Day Book
FOR TODAY 5-29-13
Outside my window...The sun is shining, the horses are grazing in the field across the road.
I am thinking...about my friend who lost her husband night before last.
I am thankful...for another day, for special friends and for bumblebees!
In the kitchen...I have fresh bluberry bread.
I am wearing...jeans and an old top
I am creating...nothing lately, I've been too busy with everyday life.
I am going...to write some pen pal letters and get caught up!
I am wondering...we will get showers later today, they say we will but "they.
I am reading...nothing new.
I am hoping...to have a good yard sale soon!
I am looking forward to...my daughter coming home from Vegas in June!
Around the house...we planted blackberrie bushes and some more rose bushes.
A favorite quote for today... "Difficult times have helped me to understand better than before, how infinitely rich and beautiful life is in every way, and that so many things that one goes to worrying about are of no importance whatsoever..." Isak Dinesen
One of my favorite things...is coffee on the porch in the mornings with Dwight...still
A few plans for the rest of the week: no big plans yet, hopefully it will stay that way!
A peek into my day...Lot's of bushhogging has been going on around here, I hope we get it done soon.

Day Book
FOR TODAY
Outside my window...The sun is shining, and there's a nice breeze.
I am thinking...about what to make for supper.
I am thankful...for another day, for hammocks and strawberries!
In the kitchen...I have a fresh strawberry cobbler in the oven!
I am wearing...jeans and tee
I am creating...in my faith art journal
I am going...to work on some of my swaps tonight
I am wondering...if Dwight will surprise me and get home early today like he did yesterday.
I am reading..."The Life of David"
I am hoping...to attend my neice's graduation tonight.
I am looking forward to...having tomorrow with my sweetheart with no plans!
Around the house...I've been pruning back some bushes peeking in from the woods
A favorite quote for today...The future is full of doubt, indeed, but fuller still of hope. John Lubbock
One of my favorite things...is coffee on the porch in the mornings with Dwight
A few plans for the rest of the week:Supper with Kim, cookout at Mitches'
A peek into my day...this morning we had a visitor, we trapped her and called a man with a turtle farm to come get her and she now has a much better home.

A Simple Woman's Day Book
FOR TODAY 5/23/13
Outside my window... the sun is shining, the birds are singing and I can see the horses grazing in the pasture across from me.
I am thinking...about cleaning out the spare room which has been used as a junk room for way too long!
I am thankful...another day, my family, my friends, my health
In the kitchen...there's leftover homemade blackberrie cobbler, yum!
I am wearing...gray youga pants and red polo tee
I am creating...letters for penpals
I am going...to wash the grey from my hair today!
I am wondering...if my disability will ever be approved.
I am reading..."The Tender Worrier"
I am hoping...we don't have any more bad weather for awhile.
I am looking forward to...Seeing my friend Kim this weekend
I am learning...how to fill my days since I no longer work
Around the house...the grass needs mowed, the tomatoes are producing!
I am pondering...on past memories, I tend to do this alot.
A favorite quote for today...Understanding is the reward of faith. Therefore seek not understanding that thou mayest believe, but believe that thou mayest understand. Augustine
One of my favorite things...spending time with my grandchildren
A few plans for the rest of the week: Visiting with Kim this weekend, cutting the grass, Melissa's graduation Friday.

If Tomorrow Never Comes
If I knew it would be the last time
That I'd see you fall asleep,
I would tuck you in more tightly,
And pray the Lord your soul to keep.
That I'd see you fall asleep,
I would tuck you in more tightly,
And pray the Lord your soul to keep.
If I knew it would be the last time
That I'd see you walk out the door,
I would give you a hug and kiss,
And call you back for just one more.
That I'd see you walk out the door,
I would give you a hug and kiss,
And call you back for just one more.
If I knew it would be the last time
I'd hear your voice lifted up in praise,
I would tape each word and action,
And play them back throughout my days.
I'd hear your voice lifted up in praise,
I would tape each word and action,
And play them back throughout my days.
If I knew it would be the last time,
I would spare an extra minute or two,
To stop and say "I love you,"
Instead of assuming you know I do.
I would spare an extra minute or two,
To stop and say "I love you,"
Instead of assuming you know I do.
So just in case tomorrow never comes,
And today is all I get,
I'd like to say how much I love you,
And I hope we never will forget,
Tomorrow is not promised to anyone,
Young or old alike,
And today may be the last chance
You get to hold your loved one tight.
And today is all I get,
I'd like to say how much I love you,
And I hope we never will forget,
Tomorrow is not promised to anyone,
Young or old alike,
And today may be the last chance
You get to hold your loved one tight.
So if you're waiting for tomorrow,
Why not do it today?
For if tomorrow never comes,
You'll surely regret the day,
That you didn't take that extra time
For a smile, a hug, or a kiss,
And you were too busy to grant someone,
What turned out to be their one last wish.
Why not do it today?
For if tomorrow never comes,
You'll surely regret the day,
That you didn't take that extra time
For a smile, a hug, or a kiss,
And you were too busy to grant someone,
What turned out to be their one last wish.
So hold your loved ones close today,
And whisper in their ear,
That you love them very much and
You'll always hold them dear.
And whisper in their ear,
That you love them very much and
You'll always hold them dear.
Take time to say "I'm sorry,"
"Please forgive me," "Thank you," or "It's okay",
And if tomorrow never comes,
You'll have no regrets about today.
"Please forgive me," "Thank you," or "It's okay",
And if tomorrow never comes,
You'll have no regrets about today.

Anger
Genesis is on hold for now. I felt the Lord wanted me to study about anger.
Recently someone made me angry, It was a complete stranger but the details don't really matter, what does matter is I responded to the situation much better than I actually wanted to. Yea for me but, I still had the anger in me, it was time to let it go!
Dear God, I get angry so easily. Things go wrong, people don't act the way I want them to, someone's words rub me the wrong way. Help me, Father, to control my anger, to keep it from spilling out, hurting those around me. Give me the strength to accept whatever You send into my life. Amen

365 Days of Snail Mail
What a beautiful morning! I've enjoyed the sunrise while having my coffee and reflecting on what I am thankful for. I thought about all the mail I get from people everywhere and thought it would be fun to show my friendship, swapping, penpal mail before opening it.
Starting today I will be blogging 365 Days of Snail Mail minus the junk and bills. Just the happy mail! If this is as fun as I think it will be I'll continue past the 365 days!

Today I Am Thankful For...
It's always good to start the day with my thankful list. I lay awake at night sometimes listing in my head the things I am thankful for. It amazes me how many there are!
Today I am thankful for sisters, the word of God, snail mail, alarm clocks, doctors, lawyers (my son is one), sweet potatoes, and beautiful, peaceful creeks.

Spring...I'm Thankful For...
The weather has been beautiful here. The flowers and shrubs are in bloom and everything is so pretty. Our tomatoes are blooming and I'm anxious to taste the savory sweetness they will provide.
I'm thankful for old (and new) friends, blue jays, carpenter bees, chicken and dumplins, hammocks and popcicles.
I'm thankful every day for my family, my blessings from God and my health, that goes without saying but I thought it would be nice to list a few of the simple daily things I'm thankful for as well.

Foodie Pen Pal
I've signed up for a foodie pen pal. I was too late for May so I will be starting in June. I'm so excited about this new adventure and look forward to meeting new people and trying new things! Below is a detailed description, there's also a link to the right if you would like to join too!
Here’s a detailed explanation of the program:
-On the 5th of the month, you will receive your penpal pairing via email. It will be your responsibility to contact your penpal and get their mailing address and any other information you might need like allergies or dietary restrictions.
-You will have until the 15th of the month to put your box of goodies in the mail. On the last day of the month, you will post about the goodies you received from your penpal!
-The boxes are to be filled with fun foodie things, local food items or even homemade treats! The spending limit is $15. The box must also include something written. This can be anything from a note explaining what’s in the box, to a fun recipe…use your imagination!
-You are responsible for figuring out the best way to ship your items depending on their size and how fragile they are. (Don’t forget about flat rate boxes!)
-Foodie Penpals is open to blog readers as well as bloggers. If you’re a reader and you get paired with a blogger, you can choose to write a short guest post for your penpal to post on their blog about what you received. If two readers are paired together, neither needs to worry about writing a post for that month.
- Foodie Penpals is open to US, Canadian residents & UK residents. Please note, Canadian Residents will be paired with other Canadians only. We’ve determined things might get too slow and backed up if we’re trying to send foods through customs across the border from US to Canada and vice versa. So, I’m going to keep two separate lists and match US w/ US and Canada w/ Canada!

Genesis Chapters 6, 7, 8
I'm finally feeling better thank the Lord! I worked on several chapters last night because I had so missed my faith journaling! I'm praying the Lord will use this blog to get the word out to others. Maybe you would like to start a faith journal. You don't have to draw, just write down what each chapter means to you. I find it helps me to understand more and retain more.

Still Under the Weather
I'm still not feeling well. No art the last couple days. I did prep a few board books with Gesso this morning but that's all I have done. I will be starting with Chapter 6 as soon as I'm feeling good enough to do some art.
