I'll Fly Away!

Lord, You've tucked in my heart a longing for that day when "hallelujah, by and by, I'll fly away."  Help me to be ready to soar!

Dear God, You know how easily I fall into worrying.  Teach me to catch my worries before they run away with me, and then give them to you.  If my life is in your hands, then I have nothing to fear. Amen

If Tomorrow Never Comes

If I knew it would be the last time
That I'd see you fall asleep,
I would tuck you in more tightly,
And pray the Lord your soul to keep.

If I knew it would be the last time
That I'd see you walk out the door,
I would give you a hug and kiss,
And call you back for just one more.

If I knew it would be the last time
I'd hear your voice lifted up in praise,
I would tape each word and action,
And play them back throughout my days.

If I knew it would be the last time,
I would spare an extra minute or two,
To stop and say "I love you,"
Instead of assuming you know I do.

So just in case tomorrow never comes,
And today is all I get,
I'd like to say how much I love you,
And I hope we never will forget,
Tomorrow is not promised to anyone,
Young or old alike,
And today may be the last chance
You get to hold your loved one tight.

So if you're waiting for tomorrow,
Why not do it today?
For if tomorrow never comes,
You'll surely regret the day,
That you didn't take that extra time
For a smile, a hug, or a kiss,
And you were too busy to grant someone,
What turned out to be their one last wish.

So hold your loved ones close today,
And whisper in their ear,
That you love them very much and
You'll always hold them dear.
Take time to say "I'm sorry,"
"Please forgive me," "Thank you," or "It's okay",
And if tomorrow never comes,
You'll have no regrets about today.

Remind me God, to open myself to Your happiness each day, each moment.  Help me not to let life's pressures and frustrations cloud my vision of Your unending joy.  Amen

Lord, give me the strength to be Your obedient child.  May I say yes to whatever You send me.  And remind me, Jesus, to be just as obedient with the small and trivial areas of my life as I am with the big and significant.  Amen

Genesis is on hold for now.  I felt the Lord wanted me to study about anger.

Recently someone made me angry,  It was a complete stranger but the details don't really matter, what does matter is I responded to the situation much better than I actually wanted to.  Yea for me but, I still had the anger in me, it was time to let it go!

Dear God, I get angry so easily.  Things go wrong, people don't act the way I want them to, someone's words rub me the wrong way.  Help me, Father, to control my anger, to keep it from spilling out, hurting those around me.  Give me the strength to accept whatever You send into my life.  Amen

Today I Am Thankful For...

It's always good to start the day with my thankful list.  I lay awake at night sometimes listing in my head the things I am thankful for.  It amazes me how many there are!

Today I am thankful for sisters, the word of God, snail mail, alarm clocks, doctors, lawyers (my son is one), sweet potatoes, and beautiful, peaceful creeks.

What are you thankful for?

Spring...I'm Thankful For...

The weather has been beautiful here.  The flowers and shrubs are in bloom and everything is so pretty.  Our tomatoes are blooming and I'm anxious to taste the savory sweetness they will provide.

I'm thankful for old (and new) friends, blue jays, carpenter bees, chicken and dumplins, hammocks and popcicles.

I'm thankful every day for my family, my blessings from God and my health, that goes without saying but I thought it would be nice to list a few of the simple daily things I'm thankful for as well.

Foodie Pen Pal

I've signed up for a foodie pen pal.  I was too late for May so I will be starting in June.  I'm so excited about this new adventure and look forward to meeting new people and trying new things!  Below is a detailed description, there's also a link to the right if you would like to join too!

Here’s a detailed explanation of the program:
-On the 5th of the month, you will receive your penpal pairing via email. It will be your responsibility to contact your penpal and get their mailing address and any other information you might need like allergies or dietary restrictions.
-You will have until the 15th of the month to put your box of goodies in the mail. On the last day of the month, you will post about the goodies you received from your penpal!
-The boxes are to be filled with fun foodie things, local food items or even homemade treatsThe spending limit is $15The box must also include something written. This can be anything from a note explaining what’s in the box, to a fun recipe…use your imagination!
-You are responsible for figuring out the best way to ship your items depending on their size and how fragile they are. (Don’t forget about flat rate boxes!)
-Foodie Penpals is open to blog readers as well as bloggers. If you’re a reader and you get paired with a blogger, you can choose to write a short guest post for your penpal to post on their blog about what you received. If two readers are paired together, neither needs to worry about writing a post for that month.
- Foodie Penpals is open to US, Canadian residents & UK residents.  Please note, Canadian Residents will be paired with other Canadians only. We’ve determined things might get too slow and backed up if we’re trying to send foods through customs across the border from US to Canada and vice versa. So, I’m going to keep two separate lists and match US w/ US and Canada w/ Canada!

Genesis Chapters 9 and 10

These turned out so pretty.  I love the vibrant colors.  I wanted to show the people divided.

Genesis Chapters 6, 7, 8

I'm finally feeling better thank the Lord!  I worked on several chapters last night because I had so missed my faith journaling!  I'm praying the Lord will use this blog to get the word out to others.  Maybe you would like to start a faith journal.  You don't have to draw, just write down what each chapter means to you.  I find it helps me to understand more and retain more.

Still Under the Weather

I'm still not feeling well.  No art the last couple days.  I did prep a few board books with Gesso this morning but that's all I have done.  I will be starting with Chapter 6 as soon as I'm feeling good enough to do some art.

Genesis Chapters 4 and 5

I did both of these while being up all night, time used well instead of wasted.  You can click on the photos to see a larger view.

Genesis Chapter 3 Finished

I finished the artwork for chapter 3 last night but was too tired to post it.  Now I'm up at four am so it's as good a time as any.  These pages don't look anything like they started out but I kinda like them.

Genesis Chapter 3

I've been sick all day and wasn't sure I'd get anything done on this today, but I finally got the study done and the pages primed.  Not sure I'll be able to finish tonight but I wanted to go ahead and get these up.
